The Ballet Program - Director, Jaime Robtison
Our Ballet Program (ages 8 and up) is designed to develop each dancer's highest obtainable skill and performance level. Placement in the Ballet Program is not based on years of study or age. The teaching content is guided by the students' physical facility and quickness in absorbing material. Therefore, students are placed where the director feels they will learn the most and where gaps in training can be addressed most effectively. Certainly talent, hard work, and dedicated attendance play a part in advancement, but placement in the best interest of the student is finally the director's decision. Classes in the ballet program include: Premier Ballet, where the class schedule begins to intensify to prepare students for a more physically demanding syllabus; and Intermediate A, B, C, D, and Advanced, where students will hone their skills by building on their foundation and gradually increasing the number of classes required to obtain the necessary physical conditioning. Students in this program are eligible to audition for the Covington Regional Ballet company.

The Tap/Jazz/Hip-Hop Programs
Our Tap/Jazz/Hip-Hop Programs (ages 8 and up) are designed to develop each student's optimal skill level in these disciplines of dance, as well as assist ballet students in becoming well-rounded dancers.
Tap Dance: A style of theatrical dance, distinguished by percussive footwork, that marks out precise rhythmic patterns and timely beats. This is an exciting form of dance in which dancers wear special shoes equipped with metal taps.
Jazz Dance: A contemporary dance form with a foundation in ballet. Jazz dance drew on African rhythms and techniques that isolate various parts of the body in movement. Jazz dance can be seen on Broadway, in music videos, and many other forms of musical entertainment.
Hip Hop: Refers mainly to street dance styles, primarily danced to hip-hop music, or styles that have evolved as part of the hip-hop culture. Hip-Hop is now also seen in many music videos.
