Covington Regional Ballet: |
Mainstream Dance is the home of the Covington Regional Ballet company. The Covington Regional Ballet company is an elite children’s programs offered by the Newton County Arts Association. Members of the Covington Regional Ballet must have, and maintain, a high standard of technique and physical conditioning. The ballet company is a way for serious ballet students to increase their performance experience and skill level beyond the training obtained in regular ballet classes alone. Artistic Director Jaime Robtison strives to give the company dancers a very realistic picture of what the demands of a professional career in ballet would entail.
The ballet company performs an average of 3 productions each season. The two largest productions usually include the Nutcracker in December and a different full-length selection in the spring. The company also does select residency performances for Newton County Schools.
